Our foundation herd was selected on diversity of proven Sires and Dams, from St Pauls Angus and recently Granite Ridge Angus. These studs have seeded for Wyelba Angus the genetic base that compares us with a long and well managed, established stud.

Although relatively new to the Angus Stud fraternity, our herd represents decades of selected breeding using classic and new age leading sires and females.

Based in Orange, our cattle will be raised in a temperate climate, under commercial conditions (with the exception that we like to give our girls the odd cuddle), thus providing the adaptability of our cattle for all seasons and all reasons.

We will focus on producing quality females for both stud and commercial purposes. Bulls will be available, only those that we would select as if for our own breeding needs, will be offered for sale.

The core criteria for female production is:

• Calf bearing frame structure;

• Genetics which provide appropriate strong traits for an all purpose breeder;

• High growth rates in all categories;

• Moderate birth weight;

• Carcase quality.

Whist we are guided by EBVs, the selection of our herd and progeny will primarily be based on good, old fashioned eye appeal. We aim to produce “front paddock” cattle that meet our goals.

Wyelba Angus’s platform for success will be consistency of quality product, not driven by fad, but proven genetics.
