MURRAY GREY

Waroona Murray Grey Stud was founded in 1977 with the purchase of 7 cows from the Wirraway Stud sale at Carcoar. The Wirraway Stud was based on Michalong and Thologolong bloodlines. A further purchase of 3 heifers from Manooka Stud, owned and run by the Watts brothers at Cudal.

In 1988 Glengarrett Granger a son of Deanlaw Duke was purchased from the Glengarrett Stud sale. He has proven himself to breed quality progeny being structurally sound, with excellent milking ability and good temperament.

1992 saw the purchase of Hillview Marcus at the Murray Grey National. At 30 months he was 1030kgs and a frame 7. He produced top quality bulls and cows with big frames.

In 1994, Springdale Stephen was purchased at Gunnedah Bull Sale, a son of Pandora Centurion. He was used over Marcus females, because of his qualities of tremendous bone and thickness.

In 1998, Glencairn Hercules was purchased from the Glencairn Stud at Armidale. He produced top quality bulls and females which won many ribbons at the Murray Grey National at Wodonga over many years.

In 2006 we purchased Monterey Sundowner, in 2007 Shellgardi Mr Reality, and in 2008 we purchased Monterey Blitzen. These bulls are producing calves with top weight gains and structural correctness.

We run approx 80 stud cows and 120 commercial cows and are a member of the Midstate Breeders Promotion Group. A free delivery of stock purchased within a radius of 100 kms is also offered.

We look forward to seeing you on open day. A selection of females, progeny and stud sires will be on show
